Bridges at Mashpee memory care residence consists of three 20-bed households arranged around a central core. Set within the indigenous salt grasses and scrub trees of Mashpee, the project provides a welcoming and reassuring home for its residents.
Dining rooms are the primary social gathering space in each household, with a residential kitchen and windows directly linking this space to the outdoor memory garden. The living room, library, activity room and lounge are uniquely tailored for particular resident activities, each of these spaces having connecting views to the next, with natural daylight and responsive indirect lighting.
Sustainable design features were facilitated by the Cape Cod Commission for LEED innovation and a cutting edge water treatment system was designed specifically for this facility. In addition to meeting enhanced energy performance of the Massachusetts Stretch Energy Code, Energy Star requirements were met for equipment and air infiltration.
