Epoch Senior Living

The Details

We designed a prototype for Bridges by Epoch properties across New England using three or four 18-unit households arranged around a central core of common and support spaces.

Each community’s research-based design features soft colors and indirect lighting, directional cues and life-enrichment areas for personalized programming. Dining areas in each household include a residential kitchen and windows linking a secure memory garden to interior spaces. Libraries, living rooms, enrichment areas and lounges all have common views as well as natural daylight and indirect lighting. Enhanced lighting controls respond to residents’ needs at various times of day.

  • Exterior daytime closeup view of a porch area at an assisted living facility. Colorful mums are planted in the mulch in front of the ground-level porch area, which shows two wooden rocking chairs and a wooden bench.

By really listening to what the building needed to be, JSA was able to bring to life the perfect dedicated memory care community that has design cues to allow residents to succeed in their new environment.
