JSA Design returned in 2021 to lead a comprehensive renovation of the Independent Living and Assisted Living amenity areas, thoughtfully updating the community while allowing it to remain fully operational throughout construction.

The renovation included a complete finish and furniture refresh, along with targeted reconfigurations to improve function and the resident and visitor experience. The reception desk and lobby were redesigned to accommodate an updated guest registration system, while an outdated café was transformed into a more inviting social hub with improved circulation, a dedicated coffee bar, and expanded lounge seating to better support resident programming and everyday gathering.

Additional enhancements included updates to the welcoming lobby and concierge areas, a vibrant pub, a cozy library, and the complete renovation of the Memory Care unit. Throughout the project, resident comfort and safety remained a top priority. Construction was carefully phased, and work areas were fully protected to minimize disruption to daily life. Measures such as overnight carpet installation and strategic separation of construction zones helped residents maintain their routines while the renovation progressed.

Originally designed by JSA Design in 2007, Brightview Commons is located within a vibrant, walkable Rhode Island neighborhood known for its local restaurants, entertainment, and strong sense of community. The 2021 renovation builds on that foundation, renewing the community with thoughtfully designed spaces that better support contemporary senior living and create opportunities for connection, comfort, and engagement along Rhode Island’s southern coast.
