FCCJ wanted to update the main lobby of their 30-year-old downtown campus’ main classroom building and consolidate all of the services to a central location for the convenience of their students. This extensive renovation and remodeling project was phased so that classes could continue and the services maintained during construction. The main lobby received new finishes, lighting, main entrance doors and glazing. The result is an open, vibrant and dynamic space large enough for special events such as a career fair. The student services, now housed in a “one-stop” location, are visible from the lobby. These include enrollment services, business service, counseling/advising, career services, disabled services and the security office. Ongoing renovations include classrooms, offices, science labs and assessment areas.
